Track Name: Burn Out The Sun
Burn Out The Sun

That’s just how it is.
A grey dawn is rising, the fires dying. The sun burns on and the sun burns slow.
So let’s take a breath from that vitriol, from “fuck you and fuck them all”.

Everything will change from night to dawn to day, so we bled out the brakes just to laugh at every line we sung for every song forever young.
We cut our teeth in the heat of a roaring endless summer, to live and breathe and kick and shout like it’s cool, so all the rest just don’t mean nothing anymore; and that’s just how it is.

They’ve got a lot of nerve coming around here with too much of not enough when there’s nothing left from bleeding everybody dry.

If tectonics shift well so be it, the time and tide stay permanent in the crash where we lost our way and heads and hands and feet and minds and eyes.

Becoming everything that I hated becoming, but I’m running now so just keep walking if you see me around. Keep my name out your mouth and your face to the ground.
Complacent, guess I caught myself saying “If it gets you by then it’s alright” but I loosened grip and watched it slip and pass me by, I’m tearing at the night.

And that’s just how it is.

Well I’ve seen it showing signs of light. The clouds leave it just buried out of sight. So I’ll swallow fire, I’ll spit out fate, to burn out the sun when I’m leaving.
Just to keep the glow alive inside, and that’s just how it is.

Still the sun burns on, and still the sun burns slow.
Track Name: Stay Fast
Stay Fast

If it's a story worth telling then just be honest, because nothing
else matters when in the end you've got nobody but
yourself. Playing it safe is nothing to try for, living with having
nothing you'll die for.
When the sting of youth meets the ache of age and it's everything
just to keep a grip on all of it. Staying sharp-angle blade to the
grinder, spitting sparks as a constant reminder.

Sweat dries, bones heal, blood stains, and I can't think of a worse
fate than falling into line.
And I know that when you were kicking against the tide, this is the
sound that kept you alive.
It said hold on.

The way I figure it, nobody wants to be forgotten, rotting away.
Legacy is just the proof that you lived it. Speak the creed, keep the
speed on your sleeve or on the wrists of the first true believer.
If the man I am met the kid that I was I'd say "don't sweat it man, let it come when it comes. It's the heart that counts" or what's left of it anyway.

Sweat dries, bones heal, blood stains, and I can't think of a worse
fate than falling into line.
They'll say what they want when you're not around but then you
bite your tongue when they tell you to slow down; get gone.

But S-T- A-Y- F-A- S-T is all that there's ever been for me, and all
there ever will be.

For second best and good enough an iron heart has rusted shut
again.

We're all just fighting our own war, so let me fight mine and you
fight yours. The end.

They'll tell you to give it up and you've damned your luck and
you've come unstuck, just tell them all to get far gone.

We're all just fighting our own war. Let me fight mine, you fight
yours.

Sweat dries, bones heal, blood stains, and I can't think of a worse
fate than falling into line.
I know that when you're kicking against the tide, this is the sound
that keeps you alive, it keeps you holding on.

And the voices chanting,
"S-T- A-Y- F-A- S-T"
Track Name: Born To Rust
Born To Rust

What the fuck are you waiting for? Wake up!
It’s so crushing after all this time you’re just born to rust.

Cut the wire, come alive, they smell the fear that’s in your eyes. The hell of
comfort, the bite of shame, I’ve come back from the same.
But you snorted the ash and smoked the dust, you did a shit hot job of fucking it up. To just adjust is just enough- born to rust.

Did you trust that the days would hold the tide for you if you stayed? Trace a line along the meridian and wait. Until the sky above turns grey, but to the sky it’s all the same. Burn out or fade away in the heat just killing time and praying for the rain.

Born to rust, back from hell and colder than the devil. We were never fucking born to rust. An all-consuming fear of change the cycle bites the same.

So take what you’ve learned and turn it into something worth screaming, worth missing, worth killing, worth dying for. Rage at the night to spit and to fight. Just a walking wreck in a toneless coma, don’t let it end like that.

A stagnant mind corrodes in place; you dug your rut, slept in the crush. Back from hell still cold as fuck I’ll melt before I rot because I was not born to rust.
Track Name: So Lost, So Low
So Lost, So Low

Breathing out with breath as heavy as lead, it’s like a razor in the throat just speaking your name, on a morning like this our coats swallow us whole.
Past your house, and it’s been so long that our names have faded from the wall.

Now there’s nothing there at all

It’s like we’re fleeing fast, and falling back, we’re dragging feet to cover our
tracks to disappear without a trace and leave nothing behind.

Because there must be something more than being better off this way.
Just heavy in the grey.
It’s been so lost, so low.
We had plans to take control. Now it’s not the same at all.

Truth be told, we’re made up more or less of broken parts just finding our way. We’re fighting through the noise to be heard and understood.
And we sweat. Over the days we spend just wasting our time, then we do it all again.

We wake up full of holes and broken, just get dressed, go to work and steady hands that shake, and dull the ache, just one breath at a time.

Because there must be something more than being better off this way.
Just heavy in the grey.
It’s been so lost, so low.
We had plans to take control. Now it’s not the same at all.

There’s a devil hanging above the city where you’re sleeping and he’s waiting for the chance, for when the guards throw down their knives. And he’s watching, don’t let him know that you see him.

And he’s saying “you’ll probably be forgotten so come and drop your guard and let me inside”. And he’s singing, don’t let him know that you’re listening.

There’s a devil hanging above the city where you’re sleeping and he’s waiting for the chance, for when the guards throw down their knives. And he’s watching, don’t let him know that you see him.

Track Name: Burn Slow
Burn Slow

Well it gets so easy to get too close and move out of focus and get lost in the gloom of smoke in the haze of the frozen ocean, the overcast drowning blue.
Still the sparks spit bright set to smoulder and ignite.

If it’s a line we haven’t said it, if it’s a light in the dark well we’re still waiting to shed it.
If it’s a word, we haven’t read it, and still the sun burns on.

So looking down from above it all looks so small, the fear of the cold it don’t mean nothing at all.
So climb up to shine with the brightest, to clear out the clouds and to make it a vow. To never come back down.

But it’s up here, in the still and the silence.
Just keep glowing, keep floating, just keep staying,
Higher than the sun, and burn away the cloud.
Repeating “don’t fade, please don’t die”.
All bathed in gold and white, but in the pale fading light, we’re saying goodbye.

If it’s a line we haven’t said it, if it’s a light in the dark
well we’re still waiting to shed it.
If it’s a word we haven’t read it but still the sun burns on.

If there’s a god, we haven’t met it. If it’s a sacrifice you bet your fucking neck that we’ve bled it.
If it’s a life, we haven’t lead it, and still the sun burns on.

And still the sun burns slow.

And still the sun burns on.
