If it's a story worth telling then just be honest, because nothing else matters when in the end you've got nobody but yourself.
Playing it safe is nothing to try for, living with having nothing you'll die for.
When the sting of youth meets the ache of age and it's everything just to keep a grip on all of it.
Staying sharp angle blade to the grinder, spitting sparks as a constant reminder.

Sweat dries, bones heal, blood stains, and I can't think of a worse fate than falling into line.
And I know that when you were kicking against the tide, this is the sound that kept you alive.
It said hold on.

The way I figure it, nobody wants to be forgotten rotting away. Legacy is just the proof that you lived it. Speak the creed, keep your speed on your sleeve or on the wrists of the first true believer.
If the man I am met the kid that I was I'd say "don't sweat it man, let it come when it comes. It's the heart that counts" or what's left of it anyway.
